Windsor Oaks Dolphins Rookie League
Windsor Oaks Swim Team is open to children ages 5-18 (as of May 30, 2026) who are able to swim independently. Any swimmer between the ages of 3 and 6 (as of May 30, 2026) who is fully toilet-trained and willing to get in the water with assistance, but not yet able to swim the length of the pool OR (if ages 5-6) is just not read for the commitment for regular swim team, may join Rookie League.
There is no team suit for Rookies; however, they are welcome to purchase the team suit. No special equipment is required. Back floats are permitted. Goggles are encouraged.
This is a fun, instructional, developmental swim lesson experience! Rookie League has lifeguard-certified coaches who are experienced teenagers and young adults. No social distancing is practiced and close contact with coaches is required for safety. Coaches will not wear masks or face shields.
Registration is available on our website before the season begins.
Rookies will practice Monday through Friday mornings (May 26th - June 22nd from 8:00-8:30am). Parents are required to stay on the pool deck during Rookie practices.
Siblings not registered as Rookies cannot swim during this time, as no lifeguard is on duty and the pool is closed except for registered swimmers.
A Rookie “Mini-Meet” (swimming the length of the pool in the shallow end with the help of coaches, swim packs, noodles, as needed) will occur at the end of the season during the banquet -- details to come.
Rookies receive a team t-shirt and swim cap if they register by April 20, 2026.
Rookie League swimmers are invited and encouraged to come and cheer on the Windsor Oaks Dolphins at all of our meets. This is a great way to introduce your child to what fun a “real” summer swim meet is like!
A parent or guardian must stay at the pool during the Rookie practices and is responsible for the supervision and safety of their swimmer.
